Climate change and the increased likelihood of heavy precipitation means the potential for devastating flooding has become a major concern in the UK, threatening our Critical National Infrastructure including electrical substations, water treatment works, gas installations, telecommunications and many other locations.

Water ingress can pose a significant risk to electrical systems with damage resulting in localised power loss, equipment failure and operational down time. Contamination of clean water is another major threat resulting in the disruption of supply and the potential spread of disease.

Commercial threats in the form of financial penalties put further pressure on to energy and water suppliers who fall to maintain their contractual obligation with their customers.

Tindall Engineering recognise that safety and security is paramount in this sector especially on doorsets located on remote sites that require an effective means of flood defence in place as there may be insufficient time to respond once flooding occurs.
