FORCED ENTRY RESISTANCE
Attackers will use anything at their disposal to reach what you keep protected: vital equipment, valuable assets, or even high-profile individuals. Safeguarding your property against this threat is non-negotiable for personal, infrastructural and financial safety.
The MICO single- and multi-point locking systems deliver robust security through rigorous testing against recognised and evolving physical attack standards.
The Rimlock has achieved LPS 1175: Issue 8 G1* in its latest testing, making it the highest-rated LPS 1175 rim lock on the market. The Navis-Shield, tested and certified to LPS 1175: Issue 8 Security Rating E5**, is a shielded lock designed to secure valuable assets in challenging situations where the lock must be protected against physical attacks, often on shipping containers, at remote sites, and in other applications.
Our range is further accredited to LPS 1673*, EN 1627*, Secured by Design and PAS 24 certifications.
FIRE CONTAINMENT
Very few fire-resistant doorsets can deliver high levels of physical attack resistance and blast performance at the same time. This is because the engineering requirements for fire safety and security often conflict. However, integrity and life safety egress should not be mutually exclusive. Fire-resistant locking systems can deliver unparalleled resistance against forced entry attempts, explosions and immediate safe escape.
Our range offers several locking systems, including the Modula, the Abryll, and the MSR, accredited to the highest level of EN 1634-1* to provide reliable resistance for up to 4 hours, prevent the spread of flames, and keep escape routes safe.
In addition, our locks can be fitted with an escape lever handle, push pad, or panic bar; all fully compliant with EN 179 and EN 1125 to provide reliable, single-motion egress in case of an emergency.
MICO access-controlled locks are also available with fail safe and fail secure functionality.
BALLISTIC RESISTANCE
Ballistic-resistant locking systems are a vital component in preventing doors from failing when struck by bullets to keep equipment secure from damage and occupants safe from bodily harm. While ballistic-resistant doors are a crucial line of defence, the installed locking systems must also provide certified resistance to ensure consistent, all-encompassing protection.
Several of our solutions, such as The Modula and Flush Bolt, combined with the LSCH cylinder guard, are tested and certified to NIJ 0108.01, ensuring ballistic doorsets remain uncompromised in the face of firearm attacks.
Our ballistic-resistant products are also LPS 1175*-certified, making entry difficult so attackers may abandon attempts or be delayed long enough for intervention.
Mortice-fitted installation ensures our solutions offer discreet security and create an unassuming look and feel that resists both opportunistic and planned attacks without drawing attention to what’s inside.
LIFE SAFETY
High-security locking systems often use heavy-duty bolts, stringent access control, and robust materials to prevent forced entry. However, if the same door also needs to provide panic or emergency egress, the door's protective features can conflict with the need for a single-action operator. Compliance with life safety regulations is vital, but it should not mean that security requirements take a back seat.
A wide selection of our locking systems, including the single-point Modula and Abryll, and the multi-point MSR and INT, are tested and certified to EN 1125 and EN 179 to provide reliable escape when every moment counts.
In addition to their life safety certifications, several of our locks have achieved prominent security standards for resistance to forced entry, ballistic, and blast attacks. This extensive list includes LPS 1175*, LPS 1673*, NIJ 0108.01, ISO 16933, and more.
Our life safety hardware is available via push pad, push plate or lever handle operators, offering single-action to escape for every application.
BLAST RESISTANCE
Accidental buildup of flammable materials can cause damage from heat, pressure, and debris, often resulting in operational disruptions. These explosions are sudden, swift, and more common than expected—locking systems installed for these applications must provide tested and certified resistance to combat lower-level blasts.
MICO’s blast-resistant solutions provide EN 1634-1*-certified fire containment to help prevent the spread of flames created by low-pressure explosions.
To provide efficient, cost-effective, and consistent multi-threat security, our blast products are also accredited to LPS 1175* for forced entry resistance, including PS 1175: Issue 8 up to Security Rating D10* and Issue 7 SR6*.
To protect occupants from pressure, heat, and flying debris, these solutions also offer EN 1125- and EN 179-certified life safety egress for swift single-action escape.
