Ballistic Resistant Cylinder Guard
MICO high security locking products have been independently tested in accordance with the European standards BS EN 1522:1999 and BS EN 1523:1999.
A series of successful tests were conducted with various calibre projectiles ranging from FB3 Handgun to FB7 Rifle classes.
FB3 (.357 Magnum) - PASS
FB4 (.44 Magnum) - PASS
FB5 (5.56 x 45 NATO FJ/PB/SCP) - PASS
FB6 (7.62 x 51 NATO FJ/PB/SC) - PASS
FB7 (7.62 x 51 NATO FJ/PB/HC) - PASS

In the standards to which the guards were tested, class FB1 represents the lowest bullet resistance, and class FB7 the highest.
During the test:
Two shots from each calibre category were fired at the MICO cylinder guard.
The first shot is aimed directly at the MICO anti-drill disk which protects the vulnerable cylinder keyway.
The second shot is aimed at the MICO cylinder guard housing which completely encapsulates and protects the entire cylinder body.
After the ballistic test was conducted it was not possible to gain access from the attack face without the suitable key.
The MICO range of security cylinder protection is universally compatible with all major cylinder manufacturers including MEDECO, KABA, LOCKEN, WINKHAUS, ABLOY, ASSA, YALE, KESO, and many more.
In addition to EN 1522 ballistic testing, MICO Cylinder Guards are tested to:
Physical Security Standards including LPS 1175
Corrosion Resistant to EN1670 Grade 5
