Abryll Evolution
![]() 2006After listening to our established customer base it became clear to us that there was a requirement for a smaller, easier to fit solution to the long-established multipoint market. |
2007Extensive research and development was carried out to design the MICO ABRYLL range. The original design concept was based on simple fit solution to reduce installation time on site. Available functions established to be Panic & Emergency escape, mechanical and electro-mechanical locking options. |
2008MICO ABRYLL single point was launched and tested to LPS1175 from SR2 to SR5* (on single and double doorsets). Instantly making it the UK'’s highest rated single point locking device. Originally manufactured from mild-steel components, the outer casing was powder coated grey to give a pleasing finish. |
![]() 2011The MICO ABRYLL was successfully tested and approved to LPS1175 SR6. Stainless steel cast parts were introduced, and the outer casing changed to a brush stainless steel cover for a more aesthetically pleasing and robust finish. These changes made the Abryll range ideal for harsh environments as well as offshore applications. |
2012Witnessed the redesign of the Push Plate actuator to make it easier to install and included a more attractive finish. This change was well received and then standardised across all the MICO product ranges. |
2013The standard lever handle was upgraded to our unique and market leading stainless-steel heavy-duty lever as standard and retested to 1 million cycles of operation. Also this year, a Partial Latching function was launched on the ABRYLL as standard to aid operation for the end user in high traffic office type environments. |
2014Further functions added to the ABRYLL range, which included Fail-safe/Fail-secure, Twin Deadlocking, Tandem Deadlocking and double Deadlocking options were tested and introduced to the market. |
2015The MICO ABRYLL range cycle was once again retested taking the life expectancy to beyond 1 million cycles. |
2017An adjustable roller-snib design was introduced to help overcome variants in frame gap tolerances and can be adjusted from 3mm-13mm to ease installation on site. |
2018MICO ABRYLL range corrosion tested to BSEN 1670 grade 5 – exceptionally high corrosion. |
![]() 2020Our new full stainless-steel panic bar and pad actuator was designed for customers with full stainless-steel requirements and to help introduce the ABRYLL range into wider export markets. |
